The Value in Different Alcohol Rehab Programs

Detoxing from alcohol can be difficult, and with your substance of choice being so easily available it can be hard to take initiative and get sober. An alcohol rehab center allows you to take yourself out of an alcohol environment, and focus on getting sober. An accredited alcohol rehab center can help you safely detox from alcohol, and then move to a rehab program that works best for your needs and lifestyle. To get the most value out of your alcohol rehab program, you must be prepared to participate actively and honestly.

Find the Right Rehab Style

There are three main types of alcohol rehab – residential treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, and partial hospitalization programs. These alcohol rehab styles all have the same goal: sober living, but approach it in different ways. Let’s dive into the three different types of rehab programs so you can determine which one is right for you.

Residential Alcohol Rehab

The most “hands-on” approach to alcohol rehab is through residential, or inpatient, rehab programs. Residential rehab programs allow you to step out of your current environment and relocate to a setting that encourages and promotes sober living, helping you pick up the habits you need to live your life without alcohol. Sobriety Options has seven different rehab locations throughout Southern California that cater to each individual’s needs.

When you enter inpatient alcohol rehab, you will begin by undergoing a detox process. The alcohol detox process can be quite uncomfortable, with many withdrawal symptoms running their course over the first 7-10 days. Seeking alcohol addiction recovery in a medical setting can prevent serious complications, and ease your pain and discomfort in a supervised manner. Once you complete the detox process you can begin the rest of your rehab program.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment for Alcohol

Intensive outpatient treatment programs are a great alcohol rehab option for those who may not have the ability to enter a residential program or have already completed a residential program and relapsed but want to get back on track. In our intensive outpatient programs, client’s have a weekly nine hour requirement for care, which they can spread out over Monday through Friday. When you participate in intensive outpatient, you have the option to either live in your own home or accommodations, or you can choose to live in one of our upscale sober living homes, where you’ll be surrounded by other individuals on their sober journeys. In intensive outpatient treatment, you will participate in both individual and group therapy sessions, all while having access to clinical and medical staff.

Partial Hospitalization Program

Partial hospitalization programs (PHP) are the most intense forms of outpatient alcohol rehab. It falls in between residential treatment and intensive outpatient treatment, with more commitment than the latter, but less commitment than inpatient programs. Like intensive outpatient treatment, PHP clients are able to live in their own home or choose to be placed by Sobriety Options into an upscale sober living home. Our sober living homes help you build a sober community during alcohol rehab, allowing you to remove yourself from potential triggers or enablers.

Clients attend their PHP program five days a week, usually from 9am-3:30pm Monday through Friday. Through partial hospitalization programs, you have access to medical and clinical staff, as well as both individual and group therapy.
